bp oil company has created a new solution that they are 99% sure that it will work. It consists of a tank, some tubes, and a pump. They are going to pump 50,000 barrels of mud and concrete to stop up the leak and they are going to put a tube in it so they can siphion oil out of the hole still but the down fall to this plan is that it takes 2 days at the least and they are not 100% sure that it will work and I think that they need to make sure that they run the numbers more that once and double check their math because this could either make this worse or it could fix this problem entirely. If this does work then we will have a cement block at the bottom of the ocean, it’s not going to look good but it will do the job. But the worst thing that could happen is that it works then with out notice the oil pressure will build up and burst the concrete mix and then we will have an even bigger mess of oil then we currently do now. If we want to make sure that this will work and make sure that the concrete mix can withstand the pressure of the oil that it will be holding underneath it. If they haven’t thought of the oil pressure then a High school student who is taking easy classes thought of something that bp executives and scientists haven’t thought of yet then we could be screwed. If they don’t plan for the unexpected then it could be another accident waiting to happen. I’m not saying that it will happen as soon as it is done filling up but it is a very big possibility of this oil pressure to be just too much for the concrete.

Bp needs to make sure they know what they are doing the right thing and that it will work because the enviroment is suffering from this oil spilland they need to be prepared for the unexpected. This could not even happen but what I am saying is that it could happen and they should have a prepared plan for if it happens and this way everyone knows what to expect if this was to happen. If they create a plan and this does happen then they don’t have to think of something on their toes and they can just fix the problem but if they don’t create a plan then if the worst happens then they will have to think under “pressure” and it seems like they can’t do that because it takes them over a month to create the first solution and it failed and now they finally created a possible solution to solve this crisis in the Gulf of Mexico.

I think that we should stop drilling offshore because this crisis shows that we can’t control the drilling even when it is far enough for the drill to be out of sight so it has to drill further down and it shows that there is a big margin of error for how deep they have to go for the oil. If we are going to drill for more oil then we need to do it on land unless there is a safer way  to do it offshore but right now there is no chance for current offshore drilling because of the Gulf accident. If we can create a better way to drill offshore so that we can harvest more oil then it would be okay as long as they are 100% sure that they know what they are doing. This way they can make sure that there is no way that this accident can not happen again.

On the 5th Morgan Hill High School had kids who wore clothing with the American flag on it.  The school made the 5 kids leave school beacause they said the clothing was not appriate for school but the kids and their parents say that the school was wrong because they are American and its a pride thing. There was also some mexicans who put on a protest to city hall and they were saying that it was their holliday but Cinco de Mayo is not their independance day or a major holliday. I think it would have been a bad thing if it was their independance day but its not. I think the mexicans and the school have blown this out of proportion. I think this shouldn’t have been a problem but they found a chance to make a big deal out of it.

In Temple, Texas parents of students are wanting the schools to bring back phisical punishment. They think that the students are not respecting the teachers and talking back and what not. Our schools don’t need phisical punishment in our schools because then then the students would be afraid to come to school and then the schools won’t get money. Our generation gets rebelious and thats just how we are just deal with it. We have a generation just like every other generation like we had the 70′s where everyone wore tie dye and smoked pot and listened to jimi hendrix. Our generation has a lot of technology and we use it all of the time and we tend to ignore anything while we are using it. We have so much that other generations and they don’t like that our generation is no where near their generation.

       If they made the punishment legal again I think that the school system would take advantege of the system and then the children will be afraid of school more than our generation is already. Not very many kids in my generation don’t like school.

In the gulf coast an oil tanker that blew up and created a big oil spill and now they are saying that the spill will be one of the biggest ever. The hole that is 5,000 feet under it is spilling 200,000 gallons a day and they can’t do anything about it because of how hard it will be to treach the hole and patch it up. They are saying that we canget to the hole in 3 months and this is a big enviromental disaster and it will be the worst if we can’t do anything to help with the situation. The government needs to stop the offshore drilling so that we don’t have another accident like this to save our enviroment and our planet.

They have a solution for the oil spill, and that is to put a 100 ton tank over the hole. This is a good meantime solution but they are saying that its a risky thing to do at this depth and they have never done this with this kind of leak. This is very risky cause it could stop the oil for now but if it fills up or if it bursts and the tank leaks. They should make sure they know what they are doing down there before they make it worse.

 There is a report that the oil spill has shrunk but then they are still saying that its a big spill and I think that it will be one of the biggest if not the biggest oil spill ever.

In Santa Clarca county they have made McDonald’s Happy Meals illegal. This is because of the toy inside. The toy is an insentive for kids to get the high fat foods. I kno that I wanted the toy with the happy meal and now I can see why I was fat when I was little and I think this is a big step in the right direction. I think they should make fast food at least a little more healthy but we all kno this won’t happen but imagine if they did. We could make the world healthy and get rid of obisity in general. I don’t see why they just make fast food illegal unless they meet some type of criteria for health. If they were to do that then it could be a big difference in the health of america.

Yesterday a volcano in Iceland erupted spewing tons of ash in our atmosphire and this has stopped flight in and out of Iceland and 6 other countries. This is the biggest flight disturbance since 9/11 and that was because of the terrorist attacks and this was a natural disaster. This means that travelers are stranded with only ground transportation to take. This is not a good thing at all because there are many people who can’t get home when they need to execpt in a car, bus, or boat. I think there can be some alternative way for people who have to leave. This disaster is one that will be remembered because it caused so much travel caos. I think that the government of Iceland should take the people where they need to go.

Egyptian builders found 14 tombs that date back to the 3rd century B.C. The Greco-Roman Mummy was found 190 miles southwest of Cario this is a big discovery because the mummy was a woman who had inlayed eyes and a lot of jewlery and this shows that she was well respected and rich and powerful. This is another great discovery and it gives us some new ideas of the Greco-Roman period and how they burry their dead. This shows us how different ancient Egyptians and Greco-Roman Egyptians are when it comes to their mummies.

There was a shooter at the pentagon and he was shot and killed after putting 2 officers in the hospital. His parents put in a warning to the police about their son and they told them about his intension and when he was going to the Pentagon. This was a good thing done by the parents of the shooter and they should be rewarded for it but the police who did take notice should have tried to prevent killing him even though he was mentally unstable as put by his parents. The authorities are going to now step up security after this insident they havent had an attack on the pentagon since the 9/11 attacks. This was a bad thing but there has been some good that came out of it. The shooter with the mental illness has been put out of his missery and it might be sad for his family but it could be better for the community if he is not around cause it could indanger the people of this country. there should be some kind of thing where if someone is mentaly incapable and instead of waisting buget money on a instition for them depending on his or her mental condition.

Last week there was a trainer that was attacked and killed by a killer whale at the sea world in orlando and the only thing the president of the company is sorry. He should have something better to say and also do something about how they are still planning to keep the whale and the same whale has been involved in 3 other killings of trainers. This is not right they are changing the way they train their animals but they  wont let go of this whale they should get rid of it and get a new one that is born in captivity so that it wont have any wild actions. This is not cool they should put something together for the family of the trainer who died and they havent said any thing yet as of if they are doing that or not.

In Austin Texas a texas pilot crashed in to a building and he left a suiside note saying that he is sorry about the victims of his actions. His wife also said that she is in shock of what has happened and she sends her sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims. The story is tragic and she shouldn’t be taking the blame for what her suisidal husband did while he was responsible for the lives of the passangers on that plane. Now there are going to be some kind of mood test that pilots will have to take or something because there is no good reason why this is alowed to happen in the first place. There should some kind of lock that should make it so that the plane can’t fly off course and there should be some kind of video feed on planes because then people can know what happened or what went wrong. The note that he left behind was at his home and his wife said that he expressed his appology for what he was going to do. He was obviously suffering from something mental but there is no proof of that. There should be more protocals for pilots now after this incident but whatever this isn’t that big of a deal to me but the families of the victims to choose if there should be some kind of punishment.
